The octopus is a cephalopod without internal skeleton that inhabits our coast of #Tenerife.
Scuba diving in Tenerife offers the possibility of having one encounter with these magnificent animals.
There are about 300 species of octopus and they have a large number of suckers that receive sensory stimuli such as a very fine touch and an exceptional smell.
It is recognized for its ability to solve problems through learning. That makes them expert hunters. Each hunting attempt increases their knowledge of the prey.
They often use objects to make the covers of their shelters. They have a portion of their brain called a vertical lobe that modulates their learning and memory as if they were superior vertebrates.
They are able to locate fertile females by smell and chase them until introducing the spermatic pack or spermatophore into them.
